Position
This position will be focused primarily on Ground Control, Rehabilitation Work (Drum Mining), and Site Services. The role is site-based and requires strong underground mining knowledge combined with planning, scheduling, and materials coordination experience.
This position will be located at the Mosaic K3 Mine Site and consists of a 12-hour shift, Monday through Thursday.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Promote a healthy, positive, and safe working environment through effective leadership and active participation in safety-related matters
• Assist with job scope development and execution, including use of SAP for planning, materials, and scheduling functions
• Apply underground mining knowledge and previous planning/scheduling experience to align work scopes with manpower, equipment, and material availability
• Coordinate ground control backlog work, ensuring alignment with approved timelines and required supplies
• Ensure all ongoing jobs have clearly defined timelines for completion, while planning and preparing for upcoming work scopes
• Review future work requirements to align manpower, equipment, and materials, including justification for increases or reductions in resources
• Develop 3–6 month forward-looking plans, with progression toward 2–5 year projections for manpower, equipment, and material needs
• Coordinate bulk ordering of supplies for large-scale jobs to ensure cost efficiency and schedule adherence
• Communicate regularly with the management team to identify job issues, risks, setbacks, and schedule delays, and assist in developing mitigation plans
• Review and confirm bolt lengths relative to specific underground back heights and ground conditions
• Prioritize ground control work scopes, including review of P2 jobs that have been backlogged and require escalation to P1 priority
• Plan and execute pre-staging of bolting materials for P2 and P3 work, including bulk orders to support multiple smaller work scopes
• Manage bolt inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, minimum stock levels, and future supply planning aligned with forecasted work
• Prioritize drum miner rehabilitation work, including estimated tonnage, footage, and timelines, particularly in relation to shutdown schedules
• Assist with planning and optimization of setup and tram times for drum miner installations and relocations
• Maintain a continuous focus on efficiency, productivity, and overall organizational effectiveness
• Actively participate in and promote a strong safety culture
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the reporting manager
Qualifications
• Previous underground mining experience is required
• SAP understanding and use is an asset
• Demonstrated experience with planning and scheduling, preferably in a mining or industrial environment
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with operations, maintenance, and management teams
