Position
Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, you will be responsible for the function of supporting underground mine operations. As an Operator, you will also be required to follow all policies and procedures and legislation required to operate the equipment safety.
All positions are located at Esterhazy, SK at the Mosaic K3 Site.
Positions are based on a 7/7 shiftwork schedule and 12 hours/day; however, the candidate must be willing to work overtime. Living Allowance is not offered.
Job Duties
Rock Bolter Operator
- Drilling test holes and installing rock bolts underground; working from an
engineering blueprint
- Miscellaneous other ground support duties
Drum Miner Operator
- Operate the drum miner to engineering blueprint specifications
- Follow the site Ground Control Management Plan
- Identify and report hazardous ground conditions
Battery Hauler Operator
- Safely operate battery haulers to transport potash
- Unload potash at designated area
- Follow designated haul routes, traffic controls, and speed limits
Safety Procedures & Requirements
- Follow underground safety protocols strictly, including PPE use and ventilation requirements
- Comply with all mine safety regulations, procedures, and the Ground Control Management Plan
- Communicate any unsafe ground conditions and/or damage of equipment to the supervisor in order to facilitate immediate corrective action
- Perform workplace inspections on a regular basis, pre and post operating of equipment
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessment Cards, following Core Industrial Services’ standards; and
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding any site deficiencies
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a strong team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in industrial mining is preferred
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving, planning, organizational, and priority-setting skills, supported by a strong work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Flexible, adaptable, and proactive in responding to change
- Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required
