Position

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall support of all activities of the Maintenance Team; included but not limited to planning and coordinating of maintenance for heavy equipment and asset management. This position collaborates with the maintenance trades personnel and operations personnel to ensure safety, quality and efficiency in the coordination and execution of all maintenance activities.

The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday.

This position is located at Rocanville, SK.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance program and manage through company fleet management system.
  • Keep track of all company assets and locations of each.
  • Perform audits and ensure all vehicles are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Liaising with vendors to source and order required materials and parts.
  • Manage the disposal and replacement of vehicles.
  • Regular monitoring work orders and follow up on materials, subcontractors, management of change or addressing manpower requirements to carry out the work.
  • Review work orders, subcontractors’ reports, assess Labour productivity, equipment down time. 
  • Review and approve the timeline and schedule for all maintenance activities.
  • Provide feedback to maintenance, identifying significant trends, potential issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures including but not limited to labour relations, policies, visions, and ideas. 
  • Ensure all applicable provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are upheld and enforced; working with the Safety Coordinators to ensure any findings are addressed in a timely manner to ensure the safety of personnel, property, and equipment. 
  • Provide attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Management and oversight of maintenance shop consisting of two full-time mechanics.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling, practices, scheduling tools and techniques 
  • Understanding heavy equipment; experience in operating of heavy equipment is a key qualification 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and immediate changes in priorities
  • Ability to think critically and make independent decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
