KDM Constructors L.P is a construction and maintenance company created in partnership with three Saskatchewan First Nation Communities. Our company is able to reinforce the trusted relationships individually built by each community to progress forward collectively.

Position

Reporting to the operations manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of site management and execution of services and projects. As a promoter of a healthy and positive work environment, you will oversee all daily activities related to site services and related projects from inception through to close out. 

This position will be based on a 8/6 shift schedule, 10.5 hours/day; however, the candidate must be willing to work overtime when needed and hours may change based on the client’s requirements.  

This position will be located at BHP Mine Site – Jansen, SK.  This is a camp-based position.  Jansen Discovery Lodge at BHP is a state-of-the-art camp that includes the following: full-service cafeteria, housekeeping, gym with a raised running track, library, and theatre.

Job Duties

  • Promoting a healthy and safe work site.
  • Attend and participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings as required by the client and or head office. 
  • Attend weekly and monthly cost/schedule meetings internally and with client.
  • Ensure compliance to the baseline schedule with all direct hire and subcontract work forces.
  • Participate in cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Be a key component in managing trends whether cost, schedule or safety related.
  • Identify and take action on approval recovery plans.
  • Be a visible leader and mentor. 
  • Ensure all execution plans related to site services and related projects are reviewed and approved, whether through direct hire or subcontract.
  • Oversee all subcontractor activities while on site.
  • Report any anomalies for project safety, trends, issues or potential issues to the Operations manager, as soon as they arise.
  • Assume responsibility for the care and control of the site conditions.
  • Review and approve the timeline and schedule for all site services and Maintenance activities.
  • Verification of costs associated with equipment repairs, rentals or purchases.
  • Ensure Supervision have sufficient field time to manage the work, to be accountable to field productivity and monitor safety habits.
  • Understand and manage the fatigue management rules for site.
  • Ensure effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures including but not limited to labour relations, policies, visions and ideas.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Project Management/Construction Management.
  • Extensive experience required in multi-Trade construction is required.
  • Proficency in project management, software related tools and Microsoft office .
  • Exceptional leadership skills to meet demanding schedules. 
  • Effective leadership skills, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills combined with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to think critically and make independent decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to execute practical solutions when required 
  • Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative and be a team player.
  • Pre-employment medical exam and drug test will be required
